Find a trusted church

We do not publish a list of churches. A list cannot tell you whether a church is safe, and it cannot tell a church that you are coming. A person can do both.

Why there is no directory here

An open, unmoderated list of churches looks helpful and is not. It cannot distinguish a healthy congregation from an unhealthy one, it exposes people to whoever chooses to be listed, and it puts the risk entirely on the person who is least equipped to assess it — usually someone new to faith.

So we do this through people. When you ask for a connection, a trained member of our team makes an introduction to a church we have some basis for trusting, in your area, with your consent at each step.

What we look for in a church

The published criteria are being finalised with our church partnerships team. Broadly, we are looking for congregations that:

  • Teach the Bible clearly and are accountable for what they teach.
  • Have functioning governance and financial accountability, not one unchallenged individual.
  • Have a safeguarding policy, a named lead, and a track record of using them.
  • Care for people who bring nothing and cannot give anything.
  • Do not require new believers to prove loyalty, give money or provide testimony as a condition of belonging.

What happens when you ask

  1. You tell us your country and rough location, and how you would like to be contacted. Nothing more is required.
  2. A trained person — not an automated system — reviews the request.
  3. If we know a suitable church, we ask your permission before sharing anything with them, and we tell you exactly what we would share.
  4. You decide whether to go. You can stop at any point, and we will not follow up repeatedly.
  5. If we do not know a suitable church in your area, we say so, and we offer what help we can instead.

If a church you were sent to is not right

Tell us. That is useful information, not a failure. If something happened that concerned you, tell us that too — it goes to our safeguarding route, not to our partnerships team, and it is taken seriously regardless of who the church is.
