Accessibility statement
This statement is honest about what has and has not been tested. An accessibility statement that claims full conformance without an audit is not worth reading.
Our commitment
We are working to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across every template and every key journey on this site. Accessibility is treated as a launch requirement, not a later improvement.
What has been built in
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, including the navigation menus, and focus is always visible.
- A skip link at the top of every page moves straight to the main content.
- Headings follow a logical order and are used for structure, not for visual size.
- Form fields have real labels, hints and errors are announced to screen readers, and errors are listed in a summary that receives focus.
- No form uses a CAPTCHA. Our anti-abuse measures ask nothing of the person filling in the form.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed, and text contrast is checked against AA thresholds.
- Content reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and remains usable at 200% zoom.
- Motion is minimal and is disabled entirely when your device is set to reduce motion.
- There is no autoplaying audio or video anywhere on this site.
- The site works on a slow connection: the body typeface is the one already on your device, and pages do not depend on non-essential scripts.
What is not finished
Known gaps we are already tracking:
- Video and audio content, with captions and transcripts, has not yet been published, so the media player and transcript experience is untested.
- Downloadable reports do not exist yet; when they do, they will be published as accessible HTML alongside any file.
- A persistent control to reopen cookie preferences has not yet been added.
- Automated accessibility checks are being added to our build pipeline.
Telling us about a barrier
If something on this site stops you from doing what you came to do, please tell us — even if you are not sure it is our fault. Describe what you were trying to do and what happened. We will reply, we will tell you honestly whether and when we can fix it, and we will offer another way to get what you needed in the meantime.
If you need information from this site in a different format, ask, and we will provide it.
